Cutting and preparing plasterboard

When cutting and preparing plasterboard, it is important that you have the correct equipment to complete the job. A rasp, pencil, straight edge, tape measure and craft knife are the tool you will need. First, you will need to use the tape measure to measure on the plasterboard the size you need, then mark it with a pencil. Use the straight edge to join up the marks and draw the lines with the pencil. The craft knife will then be used to score the plasterboard on the line you have drawn. You can then put the plasterboard on its side and snap the board by tapping on the scored line. To completely separate the two pieces of plasterboard, run the craft knife along the back of the board. Rub down the cut edge with a rasp to make it smooth.
